Abu Dhabi, UAE – Burjeel Holdings PLC, one of the GCC’s leading super-specialty healthcare providers, marked a significant milestone in its financial growth by celebrating the London Stock Exchange (LSE) Market Open on 10 July 2026, following the successful admission of its inaugural USD 500 million five-year Senior Unsecured Sukuk to trading on the International Securities Market (ISM) of the London Stock Exchange.
The Sukuk issuance, launched under Burjeel Holdings’ USD 1.5 billion Sukuk Programme, represents the company’s first international debt capital markets transaction and reinforces its position as one of the region’s fastest-growing healthcare organizations.
Listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), Burjeel Holdings operates an integrated healthcare network comprising hospitals, medical centers, physiotherapy facilities, pharmacies, and specialized care services across the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and other regional markets. The Group continues to strengthen its healthcare ecosystem through investments in advanced clinical services, medical research, education, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence-enabled healthcare solutions.
Strong Global Investor Demand
The inaugural Sukuk attracted exceptional investor interest, generating an orderbook of approximately USD 1.6 billion, representing an oversubscription of 3.2 times the offering size. International investors accounted for 61% of the final allocation, highlighting strong global confidence in Burjeel Holdings’ business fundamentals and long-term growth strategy.
The transaction is particularly notable as it is the first Sukuk issued by a healthcare provider in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region since 2018, underscoring renewed investor appetite for resilient healthcare assets.
Supporting Long-Term Growth Strategy
According to the company, the proceeds from the Sukuk will be utilized in line with the offering documentation, including refinancing existing banking facilities while providing additional financial flexibility to support Burjeel Holdings’ strategic expansion plans and continued investment in advanced healthcare infrastructure across the GCC.
The successful issuance further enhances the Group’s capital structure and positions it to pursue sustainable growth opportunities in a rapidly evolving regional healthcare landscape.
