India, Mumbai/Ahmedabad: The Adani Group has announced a ₹6,000 crore investment to establish two 1,000-bed multi-specialty hospitals and medical colleges in Mumbai and Ahmedabad in collaboration with the U.S.-based Mayo Clinic. These integrated health campuses aim to provide world-class yet affordable healthcare and medical education, catering to people across all socio-economic backgrounds.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group, highlighted that this initiative is part of a larger ₹60,000 crore commitment made by his family to enhance healthcare, education, and skill development.
“The development of Adani Health City is the first of many major projects from this contribution. I am confident that our partnership with Mayo Clinic will help elevate healthcare standards in India, with a special focus on complex disease care and medical innovation,” said Adani.
This investment is also part of a broader ₹10,000 crore commitment announced last week during the wedding of Adani’s younger son, Jeet.
Mayo Clinic’s Role in the Project
Mayo Clinic will provide technical expertise and strategic guidance to ensure global standards in healthcare delivery, clinical practices, and technological integration. According to Adani Group, the U.S. healthcare giant will support advancements in digital health, artificial intelligence, and biomedical informatics to enhance care quality.
What Will the Campuses Include?
Each of the upcoming health cities will feature:
- A 1,000-bed multi-super-specialty hospital
- A medical college with an annual intake of 150 undergraduate students, 80+ residents, and 40+ fellows
- Step-down and transitional care facilities
- Advanced research centers focusing on clinical studies, AI-driven healthcare solutions, and medical innovations
The Adani Group has also indicated plans for more such integrated Adani Health Cities across India, though further details are yet to be disclosed. With this initiative, the Adani Group aims to bridge healthcare accessibility gaps and position India as a global leader in medical education and research.
