NMC Healthcare (“NMC”), a leading integrated private healthcare provider in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has entered into a legally binding agreement to sell its 65% stake in Fakih IVF Fertility Center (“Fakih IVF”) to Blue Ocean Health Group (“Blue Ocean”). The transaction, subject to customary closing conditions, is expected to be finalized within the next two months. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Upon completion, Blue Ocean will assume full ownership of Fakih IVF.
This move aligns with NMC’s strategic focus on expanding its core multi-specialty healthcare services, including facility enhancements and growth across Dubai and the Northern Emirates. The sale proceeds will support four new medical facility launches this year, including a pediatric medical center in Dubai Marina and a multi-specialty medical center in Palm Jumeirah, set to open this summer.
David Hadley, CEO of NMC Healthcare, stated:
“NMC’s core mission is to provide accessible, multi-specialty healthcare services to all communities across the UAE. This strategic sale allows us to concentrate on expanding secondary and tertiary healthcare services and strengthening clinical infrastructure across key regions. Blue Ocean Health Group and Fakih IVF have been valuable partners, and we are confident in their ability to further advance fertility services in the region.”
Fakih IVF, recognized as the market leader in fertility services across the GCC region, views the acquisition as an opportunity to broaden its reach and enhance its specialized offerings.
Dr. Michael Fakih, Executive Chairman of Blue Ocean Health and Founder of Fakih IVF, commented:
“Bringing Fakih IVF fully under the Blue Ocean Health Group umbrella marks an exciting new chapter. This acquisition enables us to expand our services, enhance infrastructure, and introduce advanced training programs for our medical teams. We are also investing in scientific research to drive innovation in fertility treatment technologies. We appreciate NMC’s partnership and look forward to building on the strong foundation we have established together.”
As one of the UAE’s largest private healthcare providers, NMC operates a national network of 78 hospitals and medical facilities, serving over 5.5 million patients annually. Established in 1975, the group remains uniquely positioned to cater to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and the Northern Emirates, reinforcing its role as a pillar of the UAE’s healthcare landscape.
