In a groundbreaking collaboration, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), P4ML—a Future 100 UAE company—and Fakeeh University Hospital have launched a transformative five-year multi-omic study titled OMIC-Assist. This initiative is designed to advance personalized health and fitness through precision medicine, with plans to screen over 2 million volunteers.
The study aligns with the Dubai Fitness Challenge, which engaged 2.75 million participants in 2024 and aims for 15 million participants over the next five years.
Revolutionizing Health Through Multi-Omic Science
This ambitious project will provide tailored fitness and nutrition strategies, uncover disease risk factors, and offer participants actionable insights to improve their long-term health. The research incorporates cutting-edge multi-omic technologies, including single-cell omics, gut microbiome analysis, and lipid biomarkers, complemented by epigenetic and proteomic profiling.
Patrick J. Moloney, Founder of P4ML, remarked, “This study is not just about improving individual health—it’s about pioneering a global standard for personalized medicine. By integrating systems biology, we aim to unlock new insights into disease biology, develop advanced diagnostics, and create therapies for a range of conditions.”
A Milestone in Decentralized Health Research
The OMIC-Assist study is set to become the world’s largest decentralized health research initiative, supported by a trusted research environment to ensure data security and ethical management. Leveraging advanced technologies, including quantum computing and mass spectrometry, the initiative underscores Dubai’s commitment to innovation and global healthcare leadership.
Dr. Mohaymen Abdelghany, CEO of Fakeeh University Hospital, stated, “Our partnership with P4ML is transformative, enabling us to merge advanced science with robust data security. Together, we are reshaping the future of medicine and fostering healthier communities.”
Dubai’s Leadership in Healthcare Innovation
This initiative further establishes Dubai as a hub for cutting-edge healthcare solutions, combining technology, research, and patient-focused care. Participants will benefit from personalized insights into fitness, nutrition, and overall wellness, contributing to healthier lifestyles and a deeper understanding of their health.
Moloney added, “By fostering global partnerships and harnessing the power of secondary data analysis, this study aims to set new benchmarks in healthcare innovation. Participants will gain unique, actionable insights that can shape the future of their well-being.”
