Adam Bandt to Propose $54bn Initiative Backed by ‘Robin Hood’ Tax Reform
The Greens have announced a groundbreaking plan to establish 1,000 new health clinics nationwide, providing free medical and dental care. In a bold $54bn policy, the party aims to ensure access to essential health services for all Australians, with each electorate benefiting from at least six new clinics.
Adam Bandt, leader of the Greens, will make the official announcement on Thursday in Perth, one of the key seats targeted for the next election. The proposal promises to address growing concerns over bulk billing rates and rising medical costs.
Under the plan, patients would have access to GPs, dentists, registered nurses, and psychologists—all without any out-of-pocket expenses. The funding for this initiative would be sourced from the Greens’ “Robin Hood” tax reform, aimed at raising taxes on large corporations.
