Abu Dhabi, UAE: Burjeel Holdings, a leading super-specialty healthcare services provider in the GCC, has appointed Reuben George Joseph as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective October 1, 2026.
The appointment was approved by the company’s Board of Directors and comes as Burjeel Holdings prepares for its next phase of growth, with Joseph bringing more than two decades of experience across finance, corporate development, governance, and transformation.
Joseph currently serves as General Manager – Transformation at Burjeel Holdings, where he has been closely involved in the Group’s strategic finance initiatives, capital allocation, corporate development, and broader transformation agenda. His appointment as CFO is expected to provide continuity in financial leadership while building on his existing understanding of the Group’s operations and strategic priorities.
A Chartered Accountant, Joseph has more than 20 years of professional experience spanning financial reporting, controllership and governance, treasury, corporate development and mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, valuation, and finance transformation.
Prior to joining Burjeel Holdings, Joseph served as Chief Financial Officer of VPS Health and has held a number of board and senior advisory positions.
Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Burjeel Holdings, said Joseph’s existing involvement in the Group’s strategic finance and transformation initiatives would support continuity as the company advances its growth agenda.
“Reuben has already been closely involved in several of the Group’s strategic finance and transformation initiatives and has developed a strong understanding of Burjeel’s businesses and goals,” Dr. Shamsheer said. “His appointment provides continuity and brings together financial stewardship, strategic insight and execution capabilities.”
He added that these capabilities would be important as Burjeel Holdings moves into its next phase of growth, particularly in maintaining financial discipline and executing its strategic priorities.
Dr. Shamsheer also acknowledged the contribution of the outgoing CFO, Muhammed Shihabuddin, and thanked him for supporting an orderly transition.
Joseph said his immediate priority would be to ensure a smooth transition while working closely with Burjeel Holdings’ finance leadership team.
“I am grateful for the confidence placed in me by the Board and Dr. Shamsheer. Burjeel has built a strong finance platform and governance framework, and my immediate priority will be to ensure a smooth transition and work closely with the Group’s finance leadership team,” Joseph said.
He added that he would focus on advancing the company’s growth strategy and driving operational efficiency.
Muhammed Shihabuddin will continue as Chief Financial Officer until September 30, 2026, as previously announced, and will support the transition to the new CFO.
The leadership change comes as Burjeel Holdings continues to focus on healthcare growth, financial discipline, operational efficiency, and strategic transformation across its GCC operations.
