Bryan Croft, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Hospital Operations at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and CEO of Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital, has been appointed to the American Hospital Association (AHA) Regional Policy Board 9. In this role, he will contribute to advising and advocating for healthcare policies that impact hospitals and the patients they serve.

“I am honored to join Regional Policy Board 9 during such an important era for healthcare,” Croft said. “As technology and AI continue to evolve and transform healthcare, I look forward to collaborating with my fellow board members to leverage these tools to strengthen hospitals while maintaining our highest priority—delivering exceptional patient care.”

The American Hospital Association is a national nonprofit organization that represents hospitals, health systems, and the communities they serve. Its regional policy boards serve as key advisory bodies, facilitating dialogue between the AHA, member organizations, and state hospital associations while helping shape advocacy strategies and healthcare policy recommendations.

Regional Policy Board 9 includes healthcare leaders from AHA member hospitals and health systems across California, Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. The board convenes three times annually and collaborates throughout the year to address major healthcare policy challenges. Croft’s appointment began on January 1 and will run through December 31, 2028.

Carmela Coyle, President and CEO of the California Hospital Association, welcomed the appointment, noting that Croft’s experience will add significant value to the board’s work.

“Bryan Croft will make a great addition to AHA’s Regional Policy Board 9 in its efforts to support innovative and effective policy solutions for the challenges hospitals face today,” Coyle said. “He brings years of hospital leadership experience and a willingness to ask the tough questions that move important conversations forward.”

Sean Barry, Regional Executive for Region 9 at the American Hospital Association, emphasized Croft’s policy expertise and leadership background.

“Bryan brings deep experience navigating California’s complex healthcare policy environment through his leadership at Cedars-Sinai,” Barry said. “His insights and thoughtful questions will be a valuable asset as we advocate for hospitals and health systems across the region.”

As Executive Vice President and COO of Hospital Operations, Croft oversees the day-to-day operations of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, including service lines and clinical support services aimed at delivering high-quality, efficient patient care. He also serves as CEO of Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital.

Peter L. Slavin, President and CEO of Cedars-Sinai, highlighted Croft’s commitment to innovation and healthcare preparedness.

“Croft’s drive for healthcare innovation will be highly valuable to the board’s deliberations,” Slavin said. “His participation reflects both his expertise and Cedars-Sinai’s leadership as the Regional Emerging Special Pathogen Treatment Center for Region 9. His experience leading continuous improvement initiatives ensures our region is represented by a leader committed to advancing healthcare preparedness.”

Croft joined Cedars-Sinai in 2010 as Vice President of Operations and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations in 2017. During his tenure, he has played a key role in advancing operational strategies and expanding clinical programs in collaboration with department chairs, senior leadership, and medical staff.

His leadership accomplishments include strategic oversight of the Smidt Heart Institute and development of the Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital replacement facility, along with the expansion of new clinical services and programs.

Croft holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas Tech University and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Trinity University.
