Qatar’s healthcare sector has taken a major step forward in digital transformation. Apex Health, a subsidiary of Estithmar Holding, has partnered with global health IT leader InterSystems to implement TrakCare, a unified health information system designed to streamline patient care and strengthen nationwide connectivity.
Joseph Hazel, Group CEO of Apex Health, emphasized the significance of the initiative: “Digital transformation constitutes a fundamental pillar of Apex Health’s strategic framework… guiding our ambition to advance healthcare excellence across the region.”
At the core of the partnership is TrakCare, a longitudinal electronic medical record (EMR) system that follows patients across Apex Health’s network. This unified approach eliminates fragmented records and repeated tests, offering:
- One patient record integrating clinical, administrative, and financial data
- Faster decisions through real-time insights for clinicians
- Streamlined operations with more efficient, less error-prone workflows
- Future-ready technology powered by embedded AI and analytics
Group CIO Jasim Abdul Rahman noted, “By harnessing advanced technologies with platform-embedded artificial intelligence… we are creating a truly intelligent health information ecosystem.”
The partnership goes beyond a software upgrade, aiming to transform patient experiences, enhance safety, and set new standards for digital health excellence in Qatar and the wider MENA region. Ali Abi Raad, InterSystems’ Managing Director for the region, called the move “a strategic inflection point,” highlighting its potential as a scalable blueprint for Apex Health’s expansion.
Aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, the collaboration reinforces the country’s push toward world-class healthcare. With InterSystems’ expertise in interoperability, Apex Health is positioning itself not only as a hospital operator but as a digital health leader, shaping the future of care through data-driven innovation.
