Collaboration aims to enhance UAE’s humanitarian mission and expand access to quality medical care across the continent.
Abu Dhabi, UAE – 06 May 2025 – In a strategic move to boost healthcare infrastructure across Africa, AD Ports Group (ADX: ADPORTS), a global leader in integrated logistics, and Burjeel Holdings (ADX: BURJEEL), a premier super-specialty healthcare provider in MENA, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore a joint venture (JV) aimed at accelerating the distribution of high-quality medical supplies and services throughout the continent.
The potential JV aligns with the UAE’s broader humanitarian efforts, seeking to improve access to essential medicines and healthcare in underserved African regions. By leveraging AD Ports Group’s vast logistics network and Burjeel Holdings’ healthcare management expertise—particularly through its subsidiary Operonix—the collaboration will explore end-to-end solutions including inland transportation, specialised warehousing, and smart distribution of pharmaceuticals and equipment.
The initiative builds on AD Ports Group’s proven track record with the Hope Consortium, which played a pivotal role during the COVID-19 pandemic in distributing millions of vaccines and test kits globally, including to Africa.
