In a strategic move, Community Health Systems (CHS) has sold two North Carolina-based hospitals to Iredell Health System , offering a lifeline to the struggling Davis Regional Psychiatric Hospital. This development comes after a failed sale to Novant Health in June, which had raised concerns about the hospital’s potential closure.

The two facilities, Davis Regional Psychiatric Hospital and DAVIS REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER, are located in Statesville, North Carolina. While the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the acquisition marks a significant step for Iredell Health System as it expands its healthcare portfolio.

This sale follows the collapse of a previous agreement between CHS and Novant Health, which was halted due to a challenge from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), citing antitrust concerns.
