In a deeply moving gesture, UAE-based Indian-origin entrepreneur Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Chairman Burjeel Holdings has pledged ₹6 crore to support the families of medical students who tragically lost their lives when an Air India flight crashed into the hostel mess of a medical college in Ahmedabad. The students had gathered for lunch just moments before the aircraft struck.

Expressing his grief, Dr. Vayalil shared on social media:

“They were future frontline heroes. Manav, Aaryan, Rakesh, and Jaiprakash were preparing to save lives, not lose their own. The AI171 crash took them from us. Pledging ₹6 crore to support their families and others affected.”

Reflecting on his own experience living in medical hostels, he added:

“The images felt painfully familiar. This gesture is personal. It stands with the students who never got to serve, and with the families now carrying their memories forward.”

At The Health Colossus, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and recognize the profound impact of leaders like Dr. Vayalil who turn personal pain into meaningful action.
